3.5.  Food here is good.  I drove by on my way home from hearing some jazz at the Crowne, and decided to stop in.  The owner is just the nicest, and he makes his own ginger beer, which is terrifically gingery, but not so much so that you can't drink it (some tend to be taht way).  Their festival is awesome.  It's not light like some, but heavy one of those buttermilk doughnut-y ways.  Though the jerk isn't the best I've ever had (I maintain that the best in LA is from Marlene Myrie, the Flava Lady, who serves hers up at the H-wood farmers market on Sundays), it's still tasty.   The patties are good ( I had the chicken curry).  What I'd like to come back for are the curry goat, rice and beans, and jerk shrimp.

Now that that's done, does anyone in town know where I can find a Jamaican restaurant that serves curry coconut rundown?

Authentic homestyle Jamaican cooking that is slightly hidden away. I don't think I would have stumbled across this place (located in a strip mall that is not really facing out towards Manchester Blvd) but when a Dominican co-worker recommended that we try it for lunch one day, I was pleasantly surprised. The place is small (with just a few tables) and very clean. Service can be slow but it is very friendly. The food is simply amazing. Great flavor and quality of preparation that makes you feel like you are eating a home-cooked meal. They also have Jamaican sodas and unusual fresh juices and a few other local specialties. I recommend Jamaican Grille to any adventurous eater.

I've been to this hole-in-the-wall twice and wish I remember to go there more often bc their food is SO good! It's authentic Jamaican and the owners/employees there are the same, and ever so friendly.

My favorite is the Curried Goat which they only have on Fri/Sat. The lean meat falls off the bone and is spiced just right. Other favorite is their Jerk Pork which is also nicely spiced and the meat is fork-tender.

For dinner, you can get the "dinner" where the meat comes on a bed of red beans & rice, a few slices of plantains and a side of boiled vegetables mostly cabbage. The wings are pretty tasty but beware of the HEAT. The guy warned us "it's not just spicy. It's HOT" and he was right!

If you're on your way home from LAX or something, just stop by and get the food to-go. I take my food to-go too. It travels well and you won't be disappointed, this place rocks!

Friend took me to this place when I came to visit on a lunch break.

Best part of this place is the service.  The people here are VERY friendly and the have quite a following among locals.  As authentic as can be.  You can even get Curry Goat.

The food is served pipping hotThe Jerk Chicken has a slight spiciness that gets hotter as you eat.
