This is a great place to eat. I'm going to recommend the Studio City location higher, because their service, decor, and physical location is much better. The food and menu, however, is the same. And it's amazing. The panini's are some of the best I've ever had, including better than cafe's in Italy I've been to. The bread is delicious (you have to dip it in the mayo/pesto side to get the full effect) and the meats are very good.

They have great prices for Beverly Hills and the location on Canon is convenient for walking around on a sunny day (Once again, however, the Studio City location is nicer). I wouldn't go for their pastas but for a panini, this is the place to go in LA. The only thing I would point out is it would help if there wasn't three waiters waiting our table. Repeating the same things to them can be disruptive.

Also, try a canoli. Many love the chocolate variation but I'm a sucker for the original, they are delicious.

yummy panninis. I get it all the time for lunch delivered to the store I work at on Rodeo Drive. i love the basil garlic sauce the smear on it. The pickled vegetables I love to so salty and sour. the berry tart flown in from Italy is so yummy too! but i feel like they are a little expensive. $5 for a slice of tart is a little high for delivered food for lunch. But everywhere is expensive now of days for food. the economy sucks! anyways this place is good I just wish they lowered the prices a smedge.

Panini lovers HAVE to try this place out. Get the grilled breast of chicken special. That's all.
Take a bite out of it and enjoy. If you like pickled vegetables (toshi)  you may ask for it while you wait, very good as well.
I've tried their other sandwiches and pasta dishes but their okay.
Just try that #1 special and that's it. =)
bon appetit!

My friends and I were heading out for dinner the other night  looking for something filling but "cheap"  and then I remembered Il Tramezzino! I love the sandwiches here!

We started out with the Ciabatta Bread Basket. It's sliced ciabatta bread served with this yummy basil garlic pesto like dip. The ciabatta was a bit tough and chewy (not so great on the TMJ) but the dip is so dang good! (It's a great spread for your sandwich as well!)

For dinner I had the Grilled Breast of Chicken sandwich. It's slices of grilled chicken breast with sundried tomatoes, avocado, provolone and the garlic basil dip/spread. It's served on nicely toasted  warm ciabatta and is sooooo YUM! In fact half was perfect for dinner (I was saving room for dessert!) and I took the other half to work for my lunch :)  I love the combo of ingredients but the mix of sundried tomatoes and their basil garlic dip make it so delicious!

Then it was on to dessert!  I chose the Croissant w/Nutella (I swear this stuff is one of THE best things invented  EVER!!!) bananas and strawberries, accompanied by a yummy cup of hot chocolate. Now the sandwich is not exactly what you would think. It's served like a sandwich, pressed like a panini and filled with Nutella, bananas and strawberries. It is DEEEElish! I loved it!

All in all, a great meal, of course you can never go wrong when you're surrounded by great friends and have Nutella :)

Yeah, their sandwiches taste pretty okay, but if you go there at night, there is a piece of crap security guard that works the door as if it is a Hollywood nightclub. He is rude and disrespectful, a real jackass. This guy is on a power trip, was probably picked on as a little boy, maybe even molested. I will not go there every again until they fire him. Also a bit pricey, especially for the below-average service.

FIRE THAT FRUITCAKE! I know there are others that know exactly what I'm taking about.

The sandwiches here are sooo good. And what...only $11 per person? This is in Beverly Hills, I expected to pay more than that! Perhaps the best food for your money in this area. Street parking is pretty limited around here. There is a public garage across the street, but they probably don't validate so it might not be good for lunch.

I'm not typically a creature of habit.  I'm always trying to order something new and discover something yummier to top the last .  But at Il Trem, their Pressed Turkey Panini (w/ Provolone/Pesto Cream/ Sun Dried Tomatoes) is so damn good that I can't bring myself to order anything else.  Give it a go. You won't be disappointed.  Oh, and their Iced Cafe Vanilla is perfection.

Panini just the way I like it.  How do they grill that chicken sandwich so perfectly?  None compares to they way they grill them.  You must try!  I've been going here for over 10 years and it's still the same as the first time I tried it.  I took my co-worker for the first time and she is upset that this was her first time after working in BH for over 10 years.

Nothing earth-shattering here, but man do they just NAIL what they do.  Fantastic sandwiches with perfect portions and no lame, ill-thought-out sides.  Just a damn fine panini.

I had the Sicilian (with no avocado because avocado makes me totally barf in my face), and my lady had the Veggie Special #2 (a goat cheese deal with roasted red peppers, arugula, eggplant, tomatoes) and both were freaking perfect.  Really delicious.

Hard to give a place like this more than 4 stars since the service is nothing special, there's no atmosphere, and the hood is full of so many amazing places.  But make no mistake, it is virtually impossible to be disappointed here.

Plus they have Orangina, which rocks my ass off, and really tasty iced tea (passionfruit!) with plenty of free refills.

Yum all up in your grill !

Il Trame is crazy good.  The chicken special sandwich is out of this world.  I don't really like chicken but this sandwich is much more than just a chicken sandwich.  In it there are avocados and tomatoes and an amazing pesto spread, which I could basically put on anything.  The sandwich is toasted and the cheese is melty and the whole thing is super yummy.  It is one of those things that I crave all the time.  Can you tell?!  The food is very affordable and everything on the menu is tasty.  But the sandwiches have got to be the best thing on the menu.  They also have a really delicious tiramisu... delicious is an understatement.  This restaurant is really modest (the dcor is the most basic and simple and nothing to talk about) and it is small but it is open super late which is convenient.  Actually it is probably the most crowded at 12am.

The thing I miss most about LA is Il Trem!  (The second being my brother...sorry bro.)  I long for the simple, yet succulent, paninis and the complementary pickled vegetables.  The salads are TDF as well (to-die-for...LA jive, no?  They don't say that on The Hills?).

I'd even go to the one in the Valley....do you smell my desperation?

Edit:  my LA friend tells me it sucks now.  Say it ain't so Il Trem.

Somehow, I spent five years living in LA without ever hearing anything about Il Trem. I soon realized why. Not only do they have the best panini everrrr, but the lines are so achingly long that you don't want the wait to get any longer. So I kept my mouth shut too.

Since I'm likely leaving LA in a few months, I figure it's safe to spill the beans now.

If you haven't already heard, the Chicken Special is a MUST! Chicken Mushroom comes a close second. And I really want to try the Prosciutto Special.

At about $10 a pop, it's not cheap, but the panini are pretty substantial. That is, until you finish devouring it and wonder, where did all that food go? In mah belleh, that's where!

Grab a San Pellegrino Limonata to go with your delicious panini.

I've heard the Nutella Croissants are fantastic, and those cannoli are so tempting..

Be prepared to wait foreverrrrr. Or be smart and call in your order ahead.

Open ridiculously late on weekends for you drunkards with some money to drop.

Too bad this place is a nightmare to get to cuz the special chicken sandwich is amazing (it better be for 10 bucks). great flat bread, moist chicken doused in pesto sauce.

The dining room is a little cramped but everyone is friendly and there is a patio.  The crowd seems to be a lot of high schoolers.  I wonder what they were doing there at 1 in the afternoon?

I hate to send someone into Beverly Hills just for a sandwich but if you're in the area grab the special chicken sandwich.  You won't be disappointed.

i order delivery from il tramezzino oftentimes at work.  Its terrific.  I love their penne tramezzino, and their salad ricardo.  Amazing.  I would like to try more things on the menu, and eventually will.  The only reason why they dont get that 5th star is that their desserts are not as good as the food.  But otherwise, i love this place.  And will keep ordering from work.  Yay for delivery!

Great panini for great prices.  If you get there before 11:30 AM, you can order croissant paninis off their breakfast menu.  Their breakfast croissant paninis are simple yet delicious.  Their chicken pesto panini is probably their best lunch/dinner sandwich, although the flat bread is always a bit too crunchy and hard.  I don't recommend the veggie paninis....they're a bit bland.
FYI - you're allowed to bring dogs to the outdoor patio area.  They'll even bring a dog bowl of water for you.  A+ on their friendly service.

Love, love, LOVE this place. If you want some really amazing paninis, this is where to go. The chicken pesto panini in particular is a cracktacular piece of gooey, creamy, tangy, crispy, garlicky, sun-dried tomatoey heaven.

I feel bad for taking a star off because the sandwiches are pricey (expensive food in BH, really?!), but this is really the only reason I don't go here as often as I would like.

Such a great lunch spot. The marriage of prosciutto and melon is always a delight, the Giardiniera adds a solid kick to any meal and the chicken pesto is so good that the halitosis it brings does not offend. Instead, it earns a knowingly-wise nod from those who have eaten it. However, the tuna is only so-so.

This is the ill Nana, the ill Shiznit, this spot is just plain ill...and that is a good thing!!!!

I have loved il Tram, for years but like most of the spots that I frequent, I forgot to review it, until today.  Just last week, I was taking care of my friend after a painful hangover from the Damon's yelp event.  And I was feening for the Chicken Panini.  I happened to be in the valley, so I decided to give the Ventura location a shot.

I ordered my sandwich, an Orangina, Ginger Ale for my hurting friend and then I asked if they had mash potatoes.  They didn't have mashed tots so I asked if they had anything that might be easy on someone's stomach that is sick.  The manager paused and thought for a second.  Instead of trying to sell me on items on his menu, he graciously began to tell me where the closest California Chicken Cafe was, since they have mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes.  Now, some might say that that wasn't a good move sending me someplace else, but I thought it was awesome.  He also let me know that he hoped my friend feels better and then we got into a short discussion about his wife and kids and what he does to make them feel better when they aren't feeling well.  DUDE, you rock!

In closing, the food is always great, the Panning is my favorite in this city, and the Tiramisu is out of this world.  But, that extra kindness and care is something only found in 5 star establishments.

Thanks Lawrence, you hooked it up!!!!

I had been reading reviews about Il Tramezzino for some time and I realized I MUST give in to the hype and experience for myself this amazing chicken sandwich. My friends and I were meeting up for dinner and we decided to meet at Il Tramezzino. This place is a simple place, light on the ambiance, and is what it is. Being in Beverly Hills, you might expect a little bit more, but this place is all about the food, my friends.

Sitting right under an air condition I was freezing most of my evening, but what warmed up my little belly was Sandwich #1. Grilled Breast of Chicken (Sundried Tomato, Provolone, Basil Garlic Sauce- hold the avocado). To drink- an Orangina! :)

The sandwich is pretty simple. But, what makes the sandwich delightful is the basil garlic sauce. Creamy, garlicky, smooth; this is the money maker!! My sandwich was light, delicious and flavorful. It was definitely a goooood satisfying meal. We would have stayed for dessert, but the air blasting on my neck and the wobbly table ushered us out. As for the sandwich, YUM-EEEE!!

Picked randomly, this cafe was a true delight.
The staff was friendly, and rearranged the tables so we could sit down and enjoy the sunshine together.

They had a number of vegetarian selections which is always a good sign.
I think I went with veggie sandwich 2, so okay the names could be better, but the sandwich itself was absolutely delicious.

My colleagues seemed very happy with their selection and the price, while higher for sure, than what we'd pay in Oakland, seemed reasonable considering the neighborhood.

If these chicken sandwiches were a drug, I would sell them by the gram...

Ok, read the other reviews they all gloat over the chicken special aka pannini "sangwhich", well dude 28 people can't be freaking wrong!!!!!!!! I swear to the God of all thats Italian they put coke in these things they are too good.  Go order a "chicken special" and a side of veggies ,and a fresh lemonade and enjoy an Badical lunch!! I can not vouch for the other cra- uhh stuff on the menu but the soups look decent and so do some of the sandwiches, they also deliver if you happen to work close by...(I know from experience DUDE) Look to spend like $12 sheckles a pop for the meal but if your in the area and Spagos, Jack and Jills, or Nicks are out of your $$$ hit up(Dirtbag tip...parking around here can be shady, so be ready to hoof it on a weekend)

IT's' as I like to call it gets 5/5, for food and people watching...If you don't like pannini's, skip the meal or sit miserably while your friends stuff themselves silly....

Helen Keller would have screamed her hands off if she was able to come here and eat chicken sandwiches at Il Trem.

Cause I sure do every time I come!  My favorites are the chicken breast sandwich and the chicken mushroom sandwich and every time I get the chicken mushroom, I am reminded of the scene in Mad TV where Ms. Swan gets arrested for smuggling 60 lbs of Arugula into the US.

The best part about Il Trem is that its open late on Fridays and Saturdays so when you're feeling depressed and want to eat your feelings instead of going out to drown your sorrows, come here and indulge.

The croissant nutella is also ridiculously addicting and good.  This place is probably the main reason why I'm now "More to Love!" on Myspace.

When I was introduced to Tramezzino, I was told there was one panini I needed to try before anything else: the #5 Prosciutto Special. Is this the sandwich that launched a thousand ships? Nothing I say can prepare you for this panini. Brie, cantaloupe, arugula, prosciutto and a scandalous whisper of balsamic. I don't dare say any more.

We definitely get our panini cravings at night, around here. You can see us around 11PM getting our fix, typically. There's always street parking at night, but the public garage right across the way is also convenient.

You'll love the staff here, they're a bunch of jokers. Seriously, every time we're here ladies are pulling up in their big Escalades like every 5 minutes -- and every time, our waiter is all running to that curb to get his hug on. These guys LOVE their job.
