Yummy yummy breakfast. I ordered eggs over medium, my favorite test for my first time at a new a breakfast place. They got it perfect, not too runny, not too solid. Biscuits were okay, spicy chicken sausage delicious, and the coffee was good and strong and they kept it coming. My companion's french toast looked fabulous, as did everything on nearby tables. I can't really find fault with anything actually.  Everything you want in a little breakfast place. Will have to try it for lunch sometime. Seriously, this is exactly what you want a place like this to be like.

I think this place is a wee bit overrated on yelp.  With the 4/5 stars this place was getting, I expected something more than your average breakfast fare.  But, alas, that wasn't the case.

A friend and i stopped by Coffee Co to grab some food before she took off to NYC to have fun without me.  She ordered the skillet, and i ordered the french toast as recommended by all the yelpers.  When our food came out, I was kind of disappointed.  I guess it was mainly because both of our dishes looked exactly like something we had seen before.  Specifically, the skillet looked like the meat lovers skillet from Denny's, and the french toast looked like the french toast from King's Hawaiian in Torrance.  The food also tasted the same as their comparative dishes.  Meh.  Nothing special.

Maybe I'm being a little too harsh here.  ... ..  MMmm, no, i don't think so.  I mean, the food's not bad, but it's nothing to rave about.  The Coffee Co is what you would imagine your typical neighborhood greasy spoon to be.

The service was exceptional, though.  Fast, quick, and, faster and quicker when we told them that we were in a bit of a rush.  No attitude, and plenty of smiles.

Oh, and a few people mentioned how the portions are either perfect or a little less than what would make you full.  Um, the portions are HUGEEE.  Like, really a lot of food.  One plate, really, is enough to share for 2.  :)  Just a little tip.

I've been here several times and each time my food was absolutely wonderful! Made from scratch biscuits, the Hawaiian French Toast, golden brown pancakes(*having maple infused flashback*)--you cannot go wrong from breakfast.

Now, that being said, blame only yourself for popping in on a late Sunday morning with your newspaper thinking you are going to have a serene breakfast like you do during the week.

The word is OUT and this place is packed with brunchers, groups, and kids. I think of this place for breakfast only but I will check out the lunch menu and give an update :)

MMMMM! The Coffee Co. I thoroughly enjoy this cozy, local eatery. I've only been here once for breakfast, and it was on a SUNDAY MORNING! Needless to say, there was quite a wait. I usually go here for lunch/late brunch. My favorite is the Middle East Feast. Very simple and healthy.
AND THE DESSERTS! MMMMM!!!!

What the hell is it about Westchester and crazy waitresses?

I had the most annoying waitress ever last Sunday morning. WTF? Asking what church my party was from. Uuuum what makes you think we just came from church? Can't a group of young, black, and fabulous women be having lunch on Sunday without having just come from church? I don't look like I could be Muslim, or Buddhist?

And why was she so loud when she came to check on us? Grrrrrr! Then, as we finished up our food, and kept talking afterwards....she kept coming to our table cleaning up and wiping down, saying "sorry" over and over, and being all nervous.  I guess that means she was sorry because she wanted us to leave already so the real "after church" crowd can have our seats.......

Jeez, maybe I should have went ot church that morning...................

But the biscuits slathered in sausage gravy was savory as well seasoned. And it was only $4.25! They have the best homemade biscuits here. Just like grandma used to make.

Found this place on yelp and decided to stop by for a late breakfast. The  Hawaiian bread French Toast that Dave C. mentioned was to die for...I wanted to lick every crumb off of my plate but was already too full with the scrambled eggs and turkey sausage combo I ordered with it.  Good food...many choices...cheap prices...good deal!

Don't let the line scare you, it's really not that bad. The restaurant is a lot bigger than you might think. The servers are incredibly and sometimes unusually friendly. The food, OMFG the food is rather unbelievable.

I'm actually writing this from Gate 67A at LAX right now... We had a couple hours to kill before getting here since I am very punctual, and instead of eating downtown (where our hotel was), I got on the net and found this lovely little gem right by the airport. Seriously, without Yelp I would have never laid eyes on this place cause a) it's not exactly near the highway and b) it ain't that pretty on the outside, well  the inside ain't exactly beyonce lookin either if you know what im sayin'

So yes, the food. I ordered the Waffle! Yes bitches, the Waffle! It doesn't have an exclamation point on the menu or anything, but whatever, I just happen to like calling it the Waffle! ... the Waffle! was amazing, it was light, flavorful and fluffy. I ordered it with bananas and I thought it was an absolute dream. On the side was this spicy sausage thing - which by the way is some of the best sausage I have ever had outside of the bedroom, Also came with scrambeled eggs which were just ok, but whatever! The ensemble as a whole was pretty fabulous like Rihanna on the VMA's in 2007. It was like 10 bucks or so. Not bad.

Oh and um HELLO, Did I tell you about the Orange Juice yet? Um, it's hecka good! (I'm in LA so I can't say hella) - It tastes like they have an orange tree in the backyard. For reals yo!

Different flavors of coffee also await you. Yes, they AWAIT you, I say this cause they should be tasted, specifically, by you. We tried the Hawaiian Hazelnut and it was tasty tasty!

My battery is gonna go kaput soon so I gotta end this, BUT I just wanted to say that my stomach is very happy right now cause I just had one of my best meals in LA ever!!!

I am a fan now. The mid east feast is a great lunch. Chicken is well seasoned fresh and hot, the salad is crisp and well balanced, best hummus i have had in a long time that my mother in law did not make.  I love most of the servers and the owners are always there. I only wish they offered something spicy hot to go with mid east feast (no Tabasco). Don't get the soup it is not very special

The only spot I like to eat Breakfast at high noon on a regular basis...
Reason: Hawaiian Bread French Toast!  Compliment that with spicy chicken sausage or if you're feeling vegetarian that day, a 2 vege sausage patties along with 2 eggs.  Following a close 2nd place right behind that meal is the Breakfast Burrito.  Off the hook!

Definitely a nice local spot from work, small enough to be called intimate, and great service.  Still ordering different things on the menu to find their "go to" item on the menu, but maybe I found it already.

It's just a great restaurant.

The food that I've had there is great so far. I'm a heavier eater when i go out to eat, and the portions were a little smaller than i expected, but i'd say it was just enough to fill me up without feeling overstuffed or guilty about wasting food. I would say i'm impressed with the quality of food.

The atmosphere is great. I really love their setup. They have multiple rooms because it seems they bought out multiple shop spaces. This kind of gives the feeling of a smaller, intimate space and still allow the amount of people they take in. The colors they use in each room work well together and none of the decorating is overdone. It's very homey.

It has a great location on the corner so it feels kinda like a little corner shop. (I guess it is, but still... that feeling? in LA? that isn't forced or presumptuous? yah... you know what i mean). Always enough parking too.

Best feature would have to be the coffee. (At a place called the Coffee Co.? I know it makes too much sense don't it?). I love how i can drop in in the morning,  pour myself 12 ounces of decent coffee, lay down a DOLLAR and be done... That's right! you heard me Starbuck's... ONE DOLLAR. You can get no frills regular or decaf, but they usually have a special blend. My favorite so far has been this one chocolate blend that made my toes tingle... (I know I over-exagerrated just then, but would you rather me tell you, "It was good," and leave it at that?)

I have to say I'm not terribly excited about this place, BUT it is clean and above average and I have no complaints really except for the hours since they close sometime in the afternoon. But it's a breakfast place, so... you know.

Come here on a Saturday or Sunday morning and there is a line out the door.  I've been eating here for years; when I lived in Berkeley, every visit to L.A. would include a stop at The Coffee Company.  Now that I live here it's one of my most frequented stops.

So it came as a shock to me when I received a PM asking why I had yet to review it.  WHAT?!?  I had just assumed that The Coffee Company had been one of my first ten reviews on Yelp.  Suspicious, I went to the Yelp page and discovered...*gasp* there was only ONE review for it, and it was written only two weeks ago!  I missed first review on one of my all time brunch spots!

I love the place most for its Belgian waffles, which are currently my favorite anywhere.  I don't even bother ordering waffles anywhere else (with the exception of Roscoe's) because I always find them disappointing in comparison.  The Coffee Company had them down to perfection - a thin crisp on the exterior, soft and fluffy inside.  It's proximity to LAX makes it an excellent place to meet friends or family who have a layover of a couple of hours.

I can go on and on about this place, but that would just make my wait on Saturday and Sunday mornings a little bit longer.  Maybe that's why I subconsciously "forgot" to review it...

I came here to get a burger and fries for take out, but came out with something much more scrumptious and healthy  -- salmon w/ rice pilaf w/c came w/ a side of mixed veggies and wheat bread and butter (one of its four lunch specials today).  the salmon was very delish and filling!!

this place is famous for its breakfast, so i really should drop by here one of these days, albeit it'd mean having breakfast before 8 a.m. =)

While the Coffee Company isn't the be-all-end-all of breakfast eateries, it is very good.

The food is great and service is fast. It would get a fifth star if it wasn't so pricey.

Brunch on a Saturday. What more could I ask for?
There was a line, but we didn't wait long.
The coffee of the day was vanilla nut, and it was delicious! The grits were yummy, the french toast was delicious, and the eggs were just right.
Service was quick and pleasant. Just what I want in a breakfast place.

Update: I've been here a few more times, and my only complaint is this...every time my food comes out it is just lukewarm. Totally avoidable, so until my food it hot, I'm taking away a star. Sorry guys!

Great little spot very close to the airport and perfect for a preflight breakfast or lunch when you have someone to drop you off.

This is like the independent version of Denny's or IHOP.  Nothing special about their menu or their product or their service.  But its lives up to my standards for a great little diner that serves good food fairly quickly.

Three stars for the menu, quality of food, service, cleanliness.  Extra star for the great location and one more for doing it so well while not being a chain restaurant.

"You should always start your day with breakfast," they say. Or, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." This has always bothered me, because, think about The American Breakfast: chemical laden salted meats, baseball-sized dollops of butter, rivers of syrup, eggs eggs eggs, *stacks* of cakes. It's important and good for my health for me to start my day with the fattiest and sugariest meal of the day? WTF?

So I pass, and usually take my breakfast in the form of caffeinated beverages- hey, I made it this far. But this doesn't mean I don't enjoy the aforementioned food every once in a while, in fact I sometimes downright *crave* something drowning in syrup, usually not even at "breakfast time". And Coffee Co is one of those places where you can indulge in it well past the usual breakfast hour.

French toast this time - big THICK, pillowy slices - with chicken sausage (yay for poultry alternatives - that's pretty freakin' rare) and eggs: hit the spot.

Now I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the most discriminating when it comes to these kinds of meals, because everything just tastes like syrup once I'm done with it. But Coffee Co gets my thumbs up for having a distinctive character, providing poultry, and well executed classics.

Pretty decent place to get breakfast.  I got the french toast, eggs, and bacon combo for roughly $8-9 and split a small pitcher of OJ for $4.50.
The food and juice was fresh and tasted great, but did not blow me away.  The portions were on the medium to large end of the spectrum.  The service was pretty standard and uncaring.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was a little strange.  It would have worked better as an antiques store rather than a restaurant.  The halloween decorations which were up made it a little better.
Overall, I would recommend this place if you want a nice, simple breakfast that will fill you up without emptying your wallet.

We were supposed to go to the gun range, but it wasn't open yet. Luckily, no one had eaten breakfast yet, so we ended up at the Coffee Co. I've only been here on the weekend and it's always been totally packed. It was still pretty busy for a Friday, but not so much so that you're standing on top of each other. I like the vibe here -- you feel like a regular even if it's your first time here. It's warm.

I usually get the skillet -- and the potatoes O'Brien well done with a little extra salt are always great. The biscuits are totally delish too -- I could go through half a dozen easily. It won't blow you away, but it's good solid food that won't break the bank (not sure why it's rated as spendy on the page -- we spent $12 bucks each including coffee/Diet Coke).

Check it out before you hit the gun range, or the little record store down the street.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, so I've never tried their claim to fame, but I've nearly tried everything on their menu and must say it's worth trying out. Since I first starting going 6-7 years ago, they have bought 2 neighboring businesses to expand their dining room and they still have a line out the door waiting for tables. Now, mind you, for the line to reach out the door in this place means at least 10 parties are waiting to get seated, so that's saying something. (Weekends are the worst time to go: there are two churches within a block from each other that can boost the average wait time to an hour. If you don't mind sacrificing the great service, order to go instead).

For the area, it can get pricey for breakfast, but the quality of the food and service make up for it. I recommend the scrambles, breakfast burritos, waffles, french toast and chicken salad sandwiches. It is the freshest place to get breakfast in the area and only place nearby you can get outside service.

This is a real "coffee" shop with real coffee beans and an incredible pastry display inside.

This is a great "hidden" breakfast spot, far, far superior to I-Hop or Denny's or any other chain.  "Hidden" is in quotes because you'll feel like you discovered a true gem after trying this place.  However, it's NOT really "hidden" from those in the know, the throngs that show up -- it's so damn busy, there's nothing undiscovered about this place.  But busy is a good sign!  Don't forget that.

The food was incredible.  I've done skillets at all the major coffee shops, this place had the BEST skillet breakfast.  Very generous portion and well prepared.  You get a choice of "topping" for the skillet, which includes... VEGETARIAN ALERT: faux sausage.  Fake sausage is so much better for you than real sausage and theirs tastes GREAT.  The biscuit that comes with the skillet breakfast was perfect; light, fluffy, with that "freshly baked" taste.  I assume it was.

We also had the fruit crepe, which came stuffed with a huge amount of fresh fruit (melons and strawberry) and soaked in a light cinnamon syrup.  Very, very nice.

The detail that kicked this place over to a 5-star though is the attentive, accommodating staff.  We called ahead and OK'd the presence of our dog on the patio.  We show up and first thing we know, a busboy brings out a styrofoam bowl with water in it for our dog.  AMAZING.  We didn't ask (we'd actually brought our own bowl for her).  That made us feel oh so welcome.

This is one of the better breakfasts in L.A. and the staff makes this place a delight.  Enjoy!

Ok short and sweet:

~Fresh squeezed orange juice.
~Option of veggie patties ( very yummy).
~French toast made of hawaiian bread
~Most breakfasts come with Potatoes ( onions, tomato, and bell    peppers, semi mashed)
~ Coffee made from freshly grinded coffee beans
~Syrup served hot.
~ And although weekends have a line out the door, it moves fairly quickly and is bearable.

Negatives:
~ So busy, waiters are not really attentive.
~ Some tables are really close together so your practically having breakfast with your next table neighbor.

Expect to pay the same if not a little more here than you would at IHOP ( which is walking distance from here) or even Denny's. BUT the quality is so much better, and the fact that you can choose from different meats is a HUGE plus for someone like me who doesnt eat red meat or pork.

I guess it wasnt so short and sweet after all.......

This place always has a line out the door on the weekends (maybe because of the churches across the street) but it's worth it.  We usually split a skillet and pancakes or french toast.  Soooo yummy.  I got blueberry pancakes this Sat and they were good!  There's nothing like a cute small breakfast place that has good food.

I used to be wary of their "cheese sauce" on some of their omelettes but it's actually really yummy.  I've only had breakfast there so I'm not sure how the rest of the menu is.  My friend swears by their hummus plate though....

This is a neighborhood gem. It used to be this little one-room place that you had to be cool to know about. Now, the owners keep taking over the businesses next door to expand further and further and the prices seem to keep going up... This doesn't sound like a 5-star review, does it? But it is. The food is fantastic with a blend of traditional breakfast stuff, plus crepes, real Belgian waffles, and even a little middle-eastern food (I'm pretty sure that's where the owners are from). The waitresses is friendly and fun, and you may even be waited on by multiple people, as you'll never get "I'll tell your waitress" from anyone, including the owners! Every day there are a pair of flavored "specialty" coffees in decaf and regular, and usually, they're very aggressive about refilling your cup. The skillet scrambles are a specialty of theirs and are available with a long list of ingredients including sausage, chicken sausage, turkey, kielbasa, avocado, and more. Just about anything can be altered too... unless it's really busy. It gets crazy on the weekends, and really, every morning is busy. Now that they've expanded to like four rooms the waits are usually not too bad, unless the church across the street just got out. Anyhow, give it a shot!

This is one of my favorite breakfast / brunch places!  What can beat fluffy, perfectly-cooked Hawaiian-bread french toast and warm flavored coffee to wash it down?  Always so satisfyingly filling and very reasonable prices. I LOVE bringing friends here and because I'm a huge breakfast food fan, I'm constantly craving this place. Service is prompt, friendly and great, especially considering they are almost always crowded (i.e. popular and well-loved!) - they still attend to you quickly and with a smile.

Pretty decent French Toast!!!!
Don't know if I would say this place is worth the wait on the weekends, but considering Westchester totally lacks on places to eat. This is a good stand by. I-Hop, The Grinder and Denny's are really the only other breakfast places I can think of. Well, there is Truxton's for brunch. So, The Coffee Co. is my best bet for a basic breakfast.
The lunch here is not all that bad. The Greek plate is pretty yummy. Just wish the dishes were a little bit bigger. The Greek salad is always falling off the plate. Oh, the bakery/glass case has some goodies that are worth the high calories and the flavor coffee is always fresh and warm (guess hence the name, right?) with a re-fill right around the corner.
Parking is a hit or miss, Street and a parking lot across the street. On Wednesday mornings the Westchester Farmer's Market is going on making parking a total nightmare.
Over all: Good food for a good price. PS. If you get the coupon mailer in the blue envelope you will find a 1/2  off coupon for this place every single time.

some good breakfast:)  Had the turkey sausage/cheese omelette.  it came w/ the yummy biscuits and potatoes.  the biscuits were delish!  i'm not usually a fan of biscuits, but it was flaky and buttery.  the oj was fresh squeezed too.

had to take a star off for the potatoes.  not that big of a fan - wouid rather have had hashbrowns
