Why are there so many old people here?  said my son as we waited to be seated.

Old people know where to get good food at an OK price, I decided.  Come on, like the other yelpers say, it's a glorified Denny's.  I like it though.  My older brother and his wife frequent this joint in Antioch so we always seem to end up here when we meet for a movie in Pleasant Hill.

Last night, I stuck with my usual, the mile high turkey club croissant plus onions and replaced the fries with a side salad...YUMM.  They have this new thing were you can add mini appetizers for $1.99!  So, I added some mozzarella sticks and a cup of soup for the kid.  This was perfect for him because I can never get him to really eat in a restaurant and the price and portions were just right!

My bro and his wife had prime rib and shrimp...huge portions and cooked just right, they said.  Oh and all of us devoured the fried zucchini ordered by my sis-in-law. They were great because they were round and crispy and not the long mushy kind of ones.  I'm so eloquent with my words, ain't I?

Three stars cuz I'm trying to do better and reserve my four and fivers for the places that are really, reallly good and super, super top notch.

So it's been about a year. The economy has crashed, elections are right around the corner, my dream of owning a home came true on Halloween 2007, yet I lose my job the April afterwards. I'm not alone and I wasn't alone when I bought the house. And although this review is way overdue, I cannot cease to remind Ms. Linda Forester (broker) and Mr. Derek Rey (agent) how grateful I am for their contribution to my life. They took me step-by-step, by the hand, until I was ready to fly alone. Thank you both, I know I was a hand-full! Linda, You are a great teacher! And, Mr. Rey now my children will be 1st generation San Franciscans born in a home. How 'bout that? I could'nt have done it without you =)

Sincerely,
Me

Though the place is a bit tiny, the food is very authentic. Just love it!!
The portion of tempura rice is enormous. Fresh and crispy!
The spicy hamburger is great too! It's very tender. Can't really forget the taste until now!!
Sat at the bar table last night and could see what the papa was doing/cooking. Fun too!!!

Neldam's makes some deceptively tasty baked goods - deceptive as in SUGARY. As far as I know, everything Neldam's makes is an unhealthy sugar-bomb. That's fine for most people - but why not have something for people on a diet, people with diabetes, people who just want to enjoy something sweet once in a while without having to eat a bag of sugar in every bite? When I say "sugar" I mean carbohydrates - which includes all kinds of sugars that most people don't even know about. Neldam's is like the Philip-Morris of the sugar world for the East Bay. They might as well sell cigarettes and alcohol in the joint too, since they are so hell-bent on giving the world diabetes.

I'm not against Neldam's as a bakery of sweet goods - I am aware that they have built their reputation on making people fat and sick with their sugar laden poisons. I'm just hoping that they will com into the new millenium. It was fine when they were ignorant - but everyone knows that overconsumption of sugar is deadly nowadays - so how about something new and heathier for the sweet addicted? Get a brain, Neldam's - aren't you in a creative industry? Create something healthy AND sweet!

That aside, there is a reviewer below who apparently got attacked because she said some bad things about the Neldams experience, but had not been there. Well, I've been there MANY times, and I have to defend her. maybe she is psychic - because she isn't far off from the reality.

Neldam's is not sanitary - there ARE flies just "kicking it" anywhere they please. They have no system to keep them out or away from virtually any area they want to travel to - or on.

There ARE criminals and crackheads hanging about - might even be some working there, who knows? One time some criminal actually sat in my car right beside me, as if I wasn't there. He quickly found out I was ALL THERE - but you get my point. Here you are, waiting for your husband to pick up the cake you ordered, and "Cracky the Crackhead" invites himself to "spend time" with you... very unsettling.

Of course, Neldam's can't be held responsible for what happens in the parking lot - but what about the panhandlers who stand right beside you in the store and demand change? Or the drug addict sleeping on the little crappy chair they have in the corner? On top of that - if  you are a nice, cordial, non-criminal type, the staff hits YOU with a nasty, aggressive, GHETTO, aloof attitude. I've known some nice people who work there - but they ALL should be nice - dontcha think?

I guess you gotta be blinged out, iced out, with a fourty in one hand and a .22 automatic in the other for certain people to "feel you"...

I don't go to Neldam's anymore, because of those reasons and because I'va had enough of hood life. I recommend anyone who doesn't know and wants to check it out to at least make sure your clip is fully loaded - preferably extended, because gangs are getting bigger and sometimes even wear Kevlon - before you make that trip.

I've just witnessed the most epic lap dance in the history of mankind.  There was a dance battle in which I was a participant.  My ears are still ringing.  All of this took place at Sip.

Throw in the fact that the bartenders here pour drinks by the bottle instead of by the glass and you've got yourself a pretty fantastic place.  I've yet to come here and not have fun, and this night proved no different.  Oh the beautiful debauchery!!!

After all of the good reviews that I had read, I am glad to say that I was not disappointed with my dining experience here.  The food and service were all quite good and I can't argue with the price.

The menu was perhaps a little heavy with lunch items, though I believe you could also order anything a la carte for an extra fee.  My friend and I decided to go with the angel wings (chicken wings stuffed with glass noodles and pork, then breaded and fried and served with sweet and sour sauce), pumpkin curry with pork and pad thai.  The chicken wings were absolutely fantastic.  I mean, seriously, I might have to hurt some people if they got between me and the wings again.  They were that good.  The panko batter was light and airy, while the stuffing of glass noodle and pork gave a sense like you were eating a spring roll, but wrapped in delicious chicken skin and meat.  The curry was very subtle and delicate in flavor.  It had the requisite creaminess, but could have used a little more punch to enhance the pumpkin flavor.  As with just about any thai restaurant, one of the many measuring sticks is their pad thai.  While it was not the best that I've had, it was certainly very good. Again, I thought that a little extra heat could've enhanced the overall dish that was otherwise quite flavorful.

We also ordered a thai iced tea and iced coffee, both of which were sufficiently sweet and tasty.  We topped the meal off with an order of their roti, which was smothered in sweetened condensed milk.  The roti, while not like other roti that I've had, was quite light and airy, almost like a puff dough.  The contrast of creamy sweetness with light butteriness of the roti married perfectly and was a great finish to our meal.  Over all I was very pleased with my dining experience.  I'm sure it won't be long until I return.

This review is only for the Garlic Shrimp. I used to come here everyday when I lived in Mtn. View and lordy it is good! Portion is big and prices are reasonable. I like the set up too, the tables, the flat screen, the serve yourself water/sauces bar thingy. You can also get pearl tea here and I love the juices they sell too (mmmm guava) I get cravings randomly for this place, so I will def. be back soon!!

When you need serenity, soothing, & some tea THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! The people, baked goods, and tea will warm your spirits, renew your heart, and set your mind at ease. There is a special blend for every person brought to you by William Otero; who guided by his loving mother Carmencita cannot go wrong in providing you with the best of service.

I hope you enjoy this quaint little cove along some of the busiest streets in the city. Nonsense, who says you can't make time for tea?

Sincerely,
Me

Best chicken tamale i've ever had! She came with her tamales to the Dolores Park one Thursday night when my friend and I were there to watch an outdoor movie screening (haha Jaws in 3D). I was a bit concerned or paranoid buying food from her, but damn I was hungry so I couldn't fight it. The chicken tamale I paid for was hot and fresh. I should've bought two!!

definately not recommended. me and wife had a bad exp the last time we have been there. the service was pathetic. we ordered biryani and then came the most  bland & dry biryani i had ever eaten. Also biryanis come with raita etc. When we asked for some, the manager gave us a 'dont bother me' kinda look. we left the place without finishing lunch.

This review is long overdue, however, check this out! I got my hair-cut by Rachel like two months ago. She suggested I go short. Uh yeah, she was right; but the best part is I still get compliments cuz my cut just keeps flowin'. Mind you I have Shirley Temple curly hair. Enough said, the girl can cut hair. POINT BLANK!!

I think i've had the worst donburi in my life here. I ordered a vegetable donburi and it turned out to be disappointing in taste and choice of veggies used in the dish.

I wouldn't mind coming back to Kitaro in the future for a cheap eat, but I'd be sure to order something different.

The Dapper Sports Lounge...cool place to relax, watch sports or listen to current R&B and Hip-Hop or Old school R&B and Hip Hop on a Saturday. The Dj B. Bailey, Oh...I was loving him. He pulled out music that I completely forgot about or hadn't heard since 1984....come on now, "Do the Pee Wee Herman." He is a real DJ and if you decide to visit the DAPPER...slap DJ B. Bailey a "high Five." You will truly enjoy him.  Bethany (Beth) the Bartender...Love her. Beth is very attentive. Ol' girl mixes up some good @$$ drinks, too. Sorry to be cussin on a Sunday, I'm a little tipsy being that I just made in the house from "The Dapper Sport Lounge." I didn't catch the owner's name but he was a very nice and pleasant young man. You can tell he really takes pride in his success and business. URGENT NOTICE: Please "do" you, when visiting this place. You will have your share of the "too cool" to have a good time spectators, looking like its the end of the world if you stand up with your drink in hand and groove to your favorite jam. Ignore them. Life is about having a good time and I feel, if you want to hear good music on a Saturday and have tasty drinks....The Dapper Sports Lounge is where you need to be. I am signing off @ 2:14 am.

I rarely allow myself to be taken care of by others; so usually that means I'm in frantic mode by the time I need help. I had a contact crisis on Friday night (5 seconds before closing mind you). Eva (sweetheart) answers the phone. Dr.Tawil (awesome) assesses the situation. I'm as dumb as dirt, so I come in anyway cuz my eye is stinging like mad, and my vision is blurred...Ahhh!!!

Mr. Butterfingers takes my contact out, hydrates my eyeballs, and WA LA, instant relief...Sigh! Tom (2 thumbs up) is watching on the sidelines ready to assist if necessary, while providing silent moral support. On Saturday I come in and Karen (MUA!) assists me in picking out a cute yet sophisticated frame.

Anyway, there's my story. I almost ran over a biker, hit a curb, but I got home safe. Now, I bet you're all wondering who Mr. Butterfingers is huh? Well, you'll just have to see for yourselves now won't  you?

Sincerely,
Me

I was here couple of nights ago with some friends. It was pretty nicely decorated. Bartender and DJ were pretty friendly.

I liked the fact that there was no cover charge to get in. A major plus! They have a huge parking lot and its a pretty safe spot to party - no worries of getting robbed.

Seems like a cool place to hang out on a Fri./Sat. night. Nice crowd and staff. Free to get in. Strikes to me like a cool place to kick it with friends on take a date.

Enjoy.

I would have given Cheesecake a higher rating, but tonight was terrible.  Cheesecake is fairly standard across the board, but the service is the key element to whether or not you have a good experience.

The drinks were over-priced and not made correctly.  A blended, ultimate margarita should be blended.  A Kahlua cocktail should have a fair amount of alcohol, not be ice and ginger ale.

The salmon firecrackers were tasty, but really it was because of the chili spices that were tantalizing my tongue.  The actual salmon seemed mediocre at best, and certainly less than fresh.

My friend ordered an appetizer salad with Caesar dressing, but apparently out waitress thought she said "Caesar salad."

My spicy chicken salad was terrible.  I'm all for earthy, healthy flavors, but this was certainly lacking.  The cilantro over-powered the entire dish.  The chicken was as dry as the Mojave.  My friend's chipotle pasta was really delicious, but again it was attributed to the chili spices.

Our waitress was terrible.  Terrible.  She took incredibly long to even greet us.  After ordering, she took over five minutes to bring our water.  Our appetizers came out well before our cocktails even arrived.  Every time the waitress came by, she would leave within seconds.  When she asked about our food, I said it was "okay."  She asked if I wanted to send my salad back, but at that point it was pointless.

When she came to check up on us at the end of our meal, she took forever to bring our to-go box.  She should have brought the dessert menu with her at the time, but had to scamper away to bring that back.  When she came back for our dessert choice, we decided to not have anything, and then had to wait again for her to magically retrieve the bill.  Seriously, terrible.

When we were paying, I took my bill up to the front and complained about the charge for the "Caesar" salad, which I admit was only $0.96 more what we should have been charged.  I almost mentioned a few of my other complaints to the manager, and he comped our appetizer salad and my cocktail.  Thanks!  That's the only reason I'm giving this place the extra star because it originally would have been 2.

If you come here, hope you get a good server.  Also, be prepared to bring food home because the portions are enormous.  Oh, and if you come here to drink, be ready to pay high prices.  My friend's margarita was $10.50, and my cocktail was $7.50 before it was comped.

Today was my first experience at a Sonic. Once I got used to the ordering system, I also had to get used to everything else, I suppose.

Now, I was starving, having gone out with friends and been foiled in an attempt at paintball (don't ask). I wanted anything. I noticed there was one option for burgers. I do not eat meat -- red or white. And I'm not one of those entitlement veggies, trust me. I asked one of the cheerful guys there and he said they could always make a burger and not put the patty in. Gee, thanks!

When ordering time came around, the same guy took my order instead of me having to shout it into the speaker. I said the EXACT PHRASE: "Supersonic burrito, but with no meat."

A few minutes later not only was my name completely mangled even after I had spelled it out for him, I got a bacon burrito with no bacon. Which meant it still had sausages.

REMEMBER: I WAS STARVING. After mooching off two friends for a fry and a tater tot, my blood sugar-impaired self returned the burrito to the girl who had my credit card, and let me poke my head into the employees only area to explain the situation. She was very apologetic and made me the supersonic burger for me, no charge, and without the meat.

Thank you, lady, whose name, I believe, was Carmela. If only you could've made paintball available to me too.

This apartments are pretty old. No gym. There is a pool which gets heated during summer. There is manager who lives in the same complex (and so is handy) but doesnt seem so enthusiastic on maintenance requests. For those who rely on dishes rather than comcast, this is not a place to live. Also no pets. Single car park, pay for the second one. Only plus point is the rent. Its comparatively less considering this area is on a walkable distance from fremont hub. Neighbourhood is relatively safe.

First thing's first; the salads here are humongous.

Everything on their menu seems to be around $7.95 and there's so much salad in the bowl that it seems to be a better deal than their Chicken Sandwich, which I believe is their signature dish.

The Chicken Sandwich is like Banh Mi, but the bread is more artisanal, and the chicken is not marinated in lemongrass but Chinese Five Spice.  Five Spice is the stuff that is used as the dry rub on the Roast Pork you see hanging in Chinese restaurants next to the goose, duck and Cha Siu.  The Chicken most definitely could use much more Five Spice.

The sandwich was good, but not great but I think I would like to try more of their salads when I get the chance.

i've tried a lot of cupcake places and sprinkles is by far the best. their signature red velvet is #1 for a reason...so super moist and delcious! their cupcakes are seriously like mini cakes. their portions are so much better unlike other places (ahem, kara's). i don't know how me and my friend got so lucky that we only had 2 people ahead of us in line. of course, we ordered one of each kind (or two) and gorged ourselves silly on them. we felt sick but it was worth every lick and pound.

i already got one of their cute shirts from the beverly hills location and i would have picked up a onesie for my lil "cupcake monster in training" but it was way too girlie and daddy would not approve =).

if i still worked around here i'd be in big FAT (literally) trouble. why oh why did they have to open all these yummy places after i leave?! i'm already craving them so you know where me and my baby are driving to tom...

Saw something about Weird Fish in the New York Times and figured I should check it out.  Went with family and was glad I went.  Service was good, food was excellent, prices were exceedingly reasonable.  Plus they had yams, and to me, yams are God's way of telling us he loves us and wants us to be happy (I know, a misappropriation of the beer quote).

Fish selection was limited, but the steelhead trout I had was fantastic.  Sides were good too and the over all presentation of the meal belied the fact it cost $14--it looked like a $25 meal.

My only complaint is that we were told there was a 30 minute wait but we ended up waiting 70 minutes.  The hostess, sensing our pangs of hunger, did give us a free plate of fries while we waited outside, which was a kind gesture.  Even still, more accurate estimation of how long the wait might be would have been nice.
